In-person therapy for anxiety in Archway (N19)
Anxiety can take different forms. It might be a constant background tension, difficulty switching off, or a sense that your mind is always working ahead of you.
You may find yourself overthinking, worrying about things that haven’t happened, or feeling on edge without fully knowing why.
I offer in-person anxiety therapy in Archway (N19), North London, for adults who want to understand what’s driving their anxiety and begin to change their relationship to it. (If you’re looking more broadly for a North London therapist, you can read more here.)
What anxiety can feel like
People experience anxiety in different ways. You might notice:
- Persistent worry or racing thoughts
- Difficulty relaxing or feeling “on edge”
- Social anxiety or self-consciousness
- Panic attacks or sudden surges of fear
- Trouble sleeping or switching off
- A sense of pressure, even when nothing obvious is wrong
Often, anxiety isn’t just about what’s happening now. It can feel disproportionate, as if something deeper is being activated.
A deeper approach to anxiety
There are many ways of working with anxiety. Some focus on managing symptoms in the moment.
My approach is different. In therapy, we look at what may be underlying the anxiety, especially patterns that have developed over time.
This might include:
- unspoken fears or conflicts
- patterns of self-criticism or internal pressure
- earlier experiences that continue to shape how you respond
- ways of coping that keep anxiety in place
Understanding these patterns can begin to loosen their hold, so that anxiety feels less automatic and less overwhelming. Read more about my approach.
Anxiety and relationships
Anxiety can show up in relationships of all forms. You might:
- worry about how you’re coming across
- feel overly responsible for other people’s reactions
- avoid closeness, or feel overwhelmed by it
- find yourself repeating the same relational patterns
Therapy provides a space to notice and think about these patterns as they happen, rather than only afterwards.

What to expect
Starting therapy for anxiety can feel like a significant step. I offer an initial consultation where we can begin to think about what’s been happening for you, and whether this way of working feels useful.
If we continue, sessions take place weekly at a regular time. Rather than focusing only on short-term relief, the work allows for a deeper shift in how anxiety is experienced and understood.
